2.5 Handset Display

for your PBX for information about how the
handset emulates the features of the PBX utilized at your site. The following general
explanations may not apply due to differences in PBX configurations.
Alphanumeric
Display information provided by the PBX when the handset is off-hook will be
passed directly to the handset main display. Certain characters may be used by the
PBX that are not implemented in the handset, such as definable and special
characters.
Signal strength
The Signal Strength icon indicates the strength of the signal from the access point
and can assist the user in determining if the handset is moving out of range. It is
always present on the display in the upper left corner.
Battery charge
The Battery icon indicates the amount of charge remaining in the Battery Pack. It is
always present on the display in the upper right corner. There are three levels and
when only one level remains there is limited talk time remaining and the Battery Pack
needs to be charged.
Voicemail
The Voicemail icon is activated when a new voice mail message is received if the
feature is supported by the phone emulation. It appears to the right of the Signal
Strength icon.
Download
Indicates that the handset is checking for or downloading code. This icon only
appears while the handset is running the over-the-air downloader. It appears to the
right of the Signal Strength icon in the same location as the Voicemail icon.
Ringing and tones
The ringing types (normal or vibrate) are selected by the handset user and are not
accessible or changeable by the PBX. The audible and vibrating ringer on the
