Using the PAUSE Button
(For PBX Line/Long Distance Calls)
We recommend you press the soft key () on the handset or press [REDIAL/
PAUSE] on the base unit if a pause is required for dialing with a PBX or to make a
long distance call.
• “ ” is displayed on the handset only when dialing before pressing [C] or [s]
(p. 23), or storing numbers in the phone book (p. 34).

• Pressing the soft key
() on the handset or [REDIAL/PAUSE] on the base
unit once creates a 3.5 second pause. This prevents misdialing when you dial
after confirming the entered numbe r (p. 23) or dial a stored number (p. 36, 37, 41).
• Pressing the soft key
() on the handset or [REDIAL/PAUSE] on the base
unit more than once increases the length of the pause between numbers.
For Call Waiting Service Users
Press [FLASH/CALL WAIT] if you hear a call waiting tone during a
conversation.
• The first call is put on hold and you can answer the second call.
•
To return to the first caller, press
[FLASH/CALL WAIT]
again.
• Call Waiting service cannot be used when the first call is put on hold.
•
If this function does not operate properly, consult your telephone company for details.
Call Waiting Caller ID display
If you subscribe to both Caller ID and Call Waiting with
Caller ID services (CWID), when a second call is received
while talking, the second caller’s information will be
displayed. After you hear a call waiting tone while t alking,
the display shows the caller’s name with the phone
number and “Waiting”.
• Contact your telephone company for details about availability in your area, and to
verify that CWID servic e is activated on your telephone line.
• The caller’s information will only be shown on the display of the handset which is
on the outside cal l.
• The second caller’s name will not be announced even if the Talking Caller ID
feature is on (p. 28).
