Chapter 1 Preparation
• Battery life may vary depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature.
• Clean the handset and the base unit charge contacts with a soft dry cloth
once a month. Clean more often if the unit is subject to grease, dust or
high humidity. If not, the battery may not charge properly.
• If the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the handset on the
base unit until " " flashes. This will maximise the battery life.
• The battery cannot be overcharged.
• See "Important Notice Concerning the Correct Use and Charging of a Ni-MH
Battery" on page 109.
Turning the Power ON
Press (Power/Ringer) briefly.
• The current connected base unit number is
displayed.
• You can select displaying either the base unit
number, handset number or no display by
programming (p. 80).
• The handset is in the stand-by mode.

Ex. The base unit number

To turn the power OFF
Press (Power/Ringer) firmly.
• The display will go blank.
• The handset will not ring.
• Depending on the programming
mode, you cannot turn the power off.
Make sure that the handset is in the stand-by
mode first.
