Transmitting DIST ACK signal
To transmit the DIST ACK signal, do the following:

DIST ACK CALL CH70
1 Press the [ALARM STOP] key to silence the alarm.
Then, press the [ENT] key successively to view
contents of distress message.
2 If you do not receive DIST ACK from coast station
within three minutes and your vessel meets
requirements (see previous page) for transmitting
DIST ACK, press the [CALL] key to transmit the
DIST ACK.

Press the [ENT] key.
Returns to standby display.

After transmitting DIST ACK
Begin search and rescue operations for the vessel in distress, com-
municating with the vessel over CH16 (automatically set) on the
FM-8700. Relay distress alert to coast station by MF DSC. Fi-
nally, follow instruction of the coast station.
