When you have this
problem...
Try...
A cordless handset says
Unavailable.
Moving the handset closer to the base.
Seeing if another station has Privacy Mode turned on (see page 40).
Making sure the base is plugged in (see page 9).
The phone keeps ringing
when I answer on an
extension.
You may have to change the line mode. Contact customer service for more
information (see page 61).
During power failure, can't
make or receive a call.
Making sure to use the base corded handset to make or receive a call
(see page 30).
Checking the telephone cord connection (see page 10).
No stations will display any
Caller ID information.
Checking to see if the call was placed through a switchboard.
Asking your telephone company to verify your Caller ID service is current. There
may be a problem with your Caller ID service.
Letting incoming calls ring at least twice before answering.
Caller ID displays briey and
then clears.
You may have to change the line mode. Contact customer service for more
information (see page 61).
I can’t register a cordless
handset at the base.
Seeing if you already have 6 cordless handsets registered to this base.
Seeing if you already registered this handset to 4 bases.

communicate with other
handsets.
