L The handset has lost communication with the base unit. Move
closer to the base unit and try again.
L Unplug the base unit’s AC adaptor to reset the unit.
Reconnect the adaptor and try again.
L The handset’s registration may have been canceled. Re-
register the handset (page 54).
L When “No link.” is displayed during a power failure, place
a handset on the base unit to supply power to the base unit.
Check Phone Line L The supplied telephone line cord has not been connected yet
or not connected properly. Check the connections (page 9).
Dial Locked L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 21.
Error L Recording was too short. Try again.

L The entered password was wrong in programming dial lock.
Enter the correct password.
Failed

L Phonebook copy failed (page 26). Confirm the other handset
(the receiver) is in standby mode and try again.

Use rechargeable
battery.
L A wrong type of battery such as Alkaline or Manganese was
inserted. Use only the rechargeable Ni-MH batteries noted on
page 5, 7.

L You must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Once you receive
caller information after subscribing to a Caller ID service, this
message will not be displayed.
