On/Off-Hook - When a Call Appearance LED is lit and the user is listening
to dial tone, is communicating, or has an active call on hold. A
handset removed from the cradle does not necessarily mean the
Teleset is off-hook. The i2021 can be on-hook with the handset
removed from the cradle.
Primary Directory Number (PDN) - The telephone number of a particular
telephone. Some telephone companies require the PDN to be Key 1.
It is recommended that key 1 be the PDN.
“S” Interface - The 4-wire interface between the ISDN telephone and the
NT1. In the i2021 it is the same point as the “T” interface.
Shared Call Appearance (SCA) - A Call Appearance that appears on more
than one ISDN telephone. Similar to an extension phone in an analog
telephone application.
Service Profile IDentifier (SPID) - A code programmed into the telephone
and used by the switch to identify the configuration used by the
telephone. The SPID is usually the PDN plus 0101.
“T” Interface -See “S” interface.
TP Packages - A set of translations that the telephone company may offer.
The TP packages offer a variety of commonly used features in an easy
order package.
Terminal Endpoint Identifier (TEI)- A code used by the telephone to
identify it to the switch. The i2021 uses Automatic (Dynamic) TEIs.
“U” Interface - The 2-Wire interface between the NT1 and the telephone
company line.
Volatile (memory) - Information which is stored in the telephone which will
be lost when power is removed from the Teleset.
