GETTING STARTED
3. If desired, customize the second display line by dialing the desired numbers or
letters as described below:
Remain in numeric mode (Message button and lamp unlit): Press the dialpad
buttons to dial the desired numbers. Press for a hyphen (-), for a colon
(:), to leave a space, or to backspace.
Change to alphanumeric mode (Message button and lamp lit): Press
or the
USE ALPHA MODE menu button and then press the dialpad buttons to
enter the desired characters. (Refer to the chart below.) The number of times
a button is pressed determines which character is entered. For example,
33377744432999 enters “FRIDAY.” When adjoining characters are located
under the same button, press once to advance to the next character.
For example, 6 666 6632999 enters “MONDAY.” (Note that
letters correspond to the letters printed on the buttons.) Press twice to
leave a space or press if you need to backspace.
4. Press or lift and replace the handset.
*The Japanese characters are only available if the Multilingual feature is enabled and Japanese is
installed as the secondary language.
**The character available depends on the software version.
To cancel DND:
