5 MEMORY OPERATION
Programming channel names
Each memory channel and the call channel can be pro-
grammed with an alphanumeric channel name for easy
recognition and can be indicated independently by channel.
Names can be a maximum of 6 characters— see the table
below for available characters.
q Push [S.MW•MW] momentarily.
•“!” and memory channel number blink.
w Rotate the tuning dial to select the desired memory or call
channel.
e Push [BAND] to select the memory name programming
condition.
• Frequency readouts disappear and a cursor blinks.
r Rotate the tuning dial to select the desired character.
• The selected character blinks.
t Push [SET•LOCK] to move the cursor to the right.
y Repeat steps r and t until the desired channel names
are displayed.
u Push [S.MW•MW] for 1 sec. to program the name and exit
the channel name programming condition.
