Technical information
How many telephones can you have?
All items of equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) which is used to calculate the
number of items that may be connected to any one telephone line. The BT Studio 4500 has a total
REN of 1, i.e. for a base and up to 4 handsets. Any other instrument provided by BT may be assumed
to have a REN of 1 unless stated otherwise.
A total REN of 4 is allowed per telephone line. If the total REN of 4 is exceeded, the telephone may
not ring. With different telephone types there is no guarantee of ringing, even when the REN is less
than 4.
WARNING
Only use the approved power supply, item code 048611 for the main base and 048610 for the
additional handset charger.
Only use approved AAA NiMH 500mAh rechargeable batteries.
Do not immerse batteries in water or throw them into a re, or dispose of them with ordinary
domestic refuse. Please dispose of batteries as instructed.
BT accepts no responsibility for damage caused to your BT Studio 4500 by using any other types
of batteries.
Caution: there is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced by an incorrect type.
