When the handset is in
Phone On
mode and moved to a point where it

municate, the Handset will beep twice

and attempt to re-link with the Base. If
this occurs while you're on a call, move
closer to the Base Unit.
If the Handset does not re-establish
contact with the Base within
30
sec-
onds of losing contact, the Handset will
automatically drop the call and turn off.
If you walk out of range while the
Handset is not in use, the Handset will
beep twice and display
OUT OF
RANGE
until the user press any key.
NOTE:
If the Base Unit is without
power, the Handset will behave as if
it is out of range. Therefore, if the
handset beeps, the display
OUT OF
RANGE
occurs, and moving .closer to
the Base does not help, check the
Base Unit to make sure it has
power.
MESSAGE WAITING
INDICATOR (for use
with
Voicemail)
Your
Sprint
1733
is capable of de-
tecting a visual Message Waiting
signal, generated by many phone
service providers. If you subscribe to
Voicemail service from your local
telephone company, and a visual
message waiting signal is provided,
the
Sprint
1733
will display on the
right side of the Handset
LCD to alert
you to new, unplayed messages.
On the Base, the red MESSAGE
LED
will light up to alert you to new unplayed
messages.
Once you have reviewed all of your
new voicemail messages and hung up
the phone, the
Sprint
1733
will usually
turn off the Handset and Base indicators
automatically. Note that there is a delay
for the indicators to turn off, as the
Sprint
1733
is waiting for an update
signal from the telephone network.
After all new voicemail messages
have been reviewed, if the MESSAGE
WAITING indicator (icon or Base
LED)
remains on, you can manually clear
the indications as follows:
Press
MENU,
scroll to 9.
Del MSG
Icon.
Press
ENTER
I
Press
YES
to delete the icon and
[
Base
LED.
