Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Correction
GenAlert is not calling out
during the test or during
an alarm condition.
Phone number not programmed
correctly or never programmed.
Carefully reprogram the phone number and
try again.
Phone line issues:
Broken line.
Cord disconnected.
Service not available.
Off the hook or in use.
Faulty line splitter.
Faulty surge protector.
Check phone lines, connections and for dial
tone.
Wiring issues:
Wire leads loose /
disconnected.
Wires improperly spliced.
Wires installed incorrectly /
reversed / missing.
Check wire connections.
Dead or no battery. Replace battery in GenAlert.
GenAlert is sending false
alarms.
Wired incorrectly. Contact service professional to check wiring
on terminal strip and switch #4 position.
Generator control panel problem. Contact service professional.
