Troubleshooting
The system
does not
receive caller ID
or the system
does not
display caller
ID during call
waiting.
• Make sure you subscribe to caller ID with call waiting
features services provided by the local telephone
company.
• The caller may not be calling from an area that supports
caller ID.
• Both you and the caller’s telephone companies must use
equipment compatible with caller ID service.
• If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (Digital
Subscriber Line - DSL) through your telephone line, you
must install a DSL filter between the telephone base and
the telephone wall jack (page 6). The filter will prevent
noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference.
Please contact your DSL service provider for more
information about DSL filters.

The answering
system does
not answer
after the
correct number
of rings.
• Make sure the answering system is on. When the
answering system is on, the red light on the ON/OFF
key should be lit.
• If toll saver is activated, the number of rings changes to
two when there are new messages waiting (page 36).
• If the memory is full or if the answering system is off,
the system will answer after 10 rings. If the memory is
full, you need to delete some old messages in order to
make room for new messages.
• In some cases, the answering system may be affected
by the ringing system used by the local telephone
company.
