3. VOICE OVER ATM APPLICATION
You can upgrade the T1 RCU for VoATM by adding the Echo Canceller (see the Echo Canceller User Interface
Guide, document number 61200384L1-31). The Echo Canceller is used in ATM voice applications that require G.168
echo cancellation. The RCU must be using Voice Over ATM firmware to be able to use this module. The module is
available with and without ADPCM.
Figure 1 shows a typical VoATM application. The TA 850 connects to the ATM Network to provide both voice and
high speed data from a single platform.
