Placing a Call on Hold
1. Press HOLD. The LINE indicator ashes green and the phone emits a beep every 30
seconds as a reminder.
2. Place the handset in the cradle, or press another line button.
Releasing a Call on Hold
1. Lift the handset, or press SPEAKER, or HEADSET.
2. Press the line on hold.
NOTE: The call on hold can be picked up at any station using this
procedure.
Flash
Press FLASH to activate special features of your telephone network, such as Call
Transfer, or special services from your local telephone company, such as Call Waiting.
Pause
Whether you have Touch Tone or Pulse (Rotary) service, to insert a pause (break)
in the dialing sequence, press the REDIAL/pause button at the desired point in the
number while storing a number in memory. Press REDIAL/pause again if an additional
pause is needed. The pause is helpful when accessing custom calling services such
as telebanking and long distance.
Temporary Tone
If you have pulse (rotary) service and want to access customer calling services that
require tone dialing (such as telebanking and long distance services), you can use this
feature.
Press and release the TONE* button. The TONE icon shows in the display when the
phone is in Temporary Tone Mode. When you hang up or select another line, the
phone automatically returns to pulse dialing mode.
TIP: Temporary Tone can also be used while storing numbers in
memory by pressing TONE * at the necessary point in the storage
sequence.
