How many telephones can you have?
All items of telephone equipment have a
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is
used to calculate the number of items which may
be connected to any one telephone line. Your
Freestyle 2010 has a REN of 1. A total REN of
4 is allowed, if the total REN of 4 is exceeded,
the telephones may not ring.
With different telephone types there is no
guarantee of ringing, even when the REN is
less than 4.
Only use approved power supply, item code
005977.
Only use approved rechargeable batteries.
Switchboard compatibility
This product is intended for use within the UK
for connection to the public telephone network
and compatible switchboards, which support
tone dialling and timed break recall. If in doubt
please consult your switchboard maintainer.

Switchboard external line
access code
If you have connected your Freestyle 2010 to a
switchboard and the switchboard requires you
to wait for a dial tone after dialling the access
code needed to make an external call, you can
program your Freestyle 2010 to automatically
wait for a dial tone.
This means you will not need to insert a pause
after the access code on numbers you store in
the directory.
Press the MENU button.
The display will show REDIAL.
Press the DOWN button until the
display shows BS SETTINGS.
Press the
button.
The display will show AUDIO.
Press the DOWN button until the
display shows PABX CODE.
Press the
button.
Enter the code (e.g. 9) and then
press the
button.
The display shows STORED and
then EXT ACCESS.
The display will show a flashing
cursor and ACCESS CODE?
Press the
button to return to the
standby screen.
When an access code has been set,
whenever your Freestyle 2010 sees
the access code as the first digit(s)
of a dialled number, it will wait until
it hears the dial tone before it dials
the rest of the number.
