communicate with other
handsets.
Make sure that you have registered all handsets to the same base, and all
handsets are selecting the base (see page 21).
An extra handset can’t join
the conversation.
Make sure there are not two handsets already using the conference feature.
Make sure that another handset is not in privacy mode.
Make sure that you have registered both handsets to the same base, and both
handsets are selecting the base (see page 21).
The answering system does
not work.
Make sure the base is plugged in.
Make sure that the answering system is turned on.
Make sure that the message record time is not set to announce only.
Time stamp cannot be heard. Make sure you have set the time (see Setting the Day and Time on
page 40).
Messages are incomplete.
Incoming messages may be too long. Ask callers to leave a brief message.
The memory may be full. Delete some or all of the saved messages.
There is no sound on the
base or handset speaker
during call monitoring or
message review.
Adjust the speaker volume on the base or handset.
Make sure the call screen feature is set to on.
Cannot access answering
system from a remote
phone.
Make sure you are using the correct PIN number.
Make sure that the touch-tone phone you’re using can transmit the tone for at
least two seconds. If it cannot, try using a different touch-tone phone.
Weak or Hard to Hear Audio
If the caller’s voice sounds weak or soft, the signal might be blocked by large metal objects or walls; you might also
be too far from the base, or the handset’s battery may be weak.
Try adjusting the volume of the earpiece (see page 32) or the audio tone (see page 33).
Try moving around while you’re on a call or moving closer to the base to see if the sound gets louder.
Make sure the handset’s battery is fully charged.
