3. GETTING STARTED
When you start working with the ISDN dect, you need to make some minimum settings before you can
start using the phone on your ISDN line. Please do these settings first.
3.1. National/International Prefix
The National prefix is the digit that is used to start a national telephone number (example 0) and the
international prefix are the digits that are used to start international telephone calls (mostly 00).The def-
ault settings are National prefix: 0 , International prefix: 00
The pre-setting must be not changed if the national calls start with 0 and international calls start with
00. But when you will use your telephone on a PABX, then it may be necessary to change the settings
by adding the number to take the external line. Please refer the user manual of the PABX.
- Press MENU when the unit is in standby mode..
- Select BASE SETTING by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm
- Enter the Base Pin code BS_PIN?: (DEFAULT: 0000)
- Press OK to confirm.
- Select PREFIX/TFER by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Select PREFIX by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Select NATIONAL or INTERNAT. by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Edit the prefix if necessary via the numerical keypad (press C to erase a digit)
- Press OK to confirm.
- Press ESC to leave the menu.
3.2. MSN numbers
You must assign the ISDN number(s) of the ISDN line to the Butler 5070. All MSN numbers assigned to
the Base Station will be stored in a MSN List.
To enter the MSN numbers:
- Press MENU when the unit is in standby mode..
- Select BASE SETTING by using the UP- and DOWN keys and press OK key
- Enter the Base Pin code BS_PIN?: (DEFAULT: 0000)
- Press OK to confirm.
- Select MSN by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Select MSN LIST by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm. The display will indicate ‘EMPTY
- Select OPT.
- Select NEW by using the UP- and DOWN keys.
- Press OK to confirm.
- Enter the MSN number NEW:
- Press OK to confirm.
- Press ESC to leave the setting.
Repeat this to enter all the MSN numbers that should be assigned to the Butler 5070.
3.3. Assigning an MSN number to a handset
If you assign a MSN number to a handset, this handset will ring when the assigned MSN number is cal-
led. Before you can assign a MSN number you must program the MSN numbers as indicated above.
