Troubleshooting
If you experience any of the following difficulties while using
your phone, use this troubleshooting list to help you remedy
the problem.
Should any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Receiving calls
Symptom
You hear four short error beeps
when you press (TALK/FLASH).
You hear no dial tone.
The telephone does not connect
at all, even though the number
you have dialed is correct.
The phone does not redial
correctly.
The handset does not ring.
You hear interference during
conversation.
You hear a beep during
the conversation.
Making calls
Remedy
Make sure you set up the base phone correctly (page
8).
Move the handset closer to the base phone.
Replace the handset to the base phone for a while to
recharge the battery pack.
Make sure the telephone line cord is securely
connected to the telephone outlet.
Make sure the battery is fully charged (page 11).
Make sure the dialing mode is set correctly (page 10).
Before dialing, make sure you can hear a dial tone.
Make sure the last dialed number is really the one you
want to dial.
If the number last dialed exceeds 16 digits, only the
first 16 digits are dialed.
The battery may be weak. Charge the battery for more
than 8 hours (page 11).
Make sure you set up the base phone correctly (page
8).
Move the handset closer to the base phone.
Replace the handset to the base phone for a while to
reset the digital security code (page 6).
Make sure the ringer is turned on (page 19).
Move the handset closer to the base phone.
Press (CHANNEL) on the handset for a channel that
gives better reception.
Place the base phone away from noise sources (page
8).
The battery is weak. Charge the battery for more than
8 hours (page 11).
