Methods
Firmware updates can be conducted using the following methods:
Only for advanced users or system administrators:
1.
Manual TFTP update
: Exceptional situations or downgrade, see page 12
2.
Manual update/downgrade
: Most convenient when updating/downgrading within
the same major release level, e.g. 6.X: from version 6.2.3 to 6.5.10, etc.
L Note: We do not recommend manual updates between different major release
levels, e.g. from 3.X/4.X/5.X to 6.X or 6.X to 7.X. Use automatic updates instead.
3.
Automatic update:
This method updates your phone firmware to the current
official release.
Manual update or downgrade
L Note: This method requires an internet connection.
The manual update is conducted via the phone’s web user interface.
