2. Making A Call
a. Press and release HEADSET. The 9225 selects Line 1 by default. To place a
call on Line 2, press LINE2 before pressing HEADSET.
b. When you hear a dial tone, dial the number or press a memory
button. The number will appear on the display window.
c. When your party answers, adjust the volume of the conversation by pressing
the Volume Buttons on the base of the telephone.
d. After the conversation has finished, press and release HEADSET to hang up.
Note:
1. If you wish to switch from headset to handset, simply lift the handset.
2. If you wish to switch from headset to speakerphone, press and release SPEAKER.
HOLD BUTTON
Placing a call on HOLD
Press HOLD and hang up the handset. The display will show L1 HOLDING or L2
HOLDING. HOLD will light and remain lighted until you resume your conversation.
Retrieving a call on HOLD
There are several ways to retrieve a held call depending which line or lines are on hold.
1. If Line 1 is on hold and Line 2 is idle, pick up the handset, press SPEAKER, press
HEADSET, or press LINE 1.
2. If Line 2 is on hold and Line 1 is idle, pick up the handset, press SPEAKER, press
HEADSET, or press LINE 2.
3. If both lines are on hold, pressing CONF will create a conference call.
LINE 1 BUTTON / LINE 2 BUTTON
These buttons select the line for use by the 9225. Please note that selecting one line does
NOT automatically put the other line on hold. If a call is established on Line 1 and you
wish to retain it while making a call on Line 2, you must press HOLD before selecting
LINE 2. Otherwise, pressing LINE 2 will disconnect a call on Line 1. In the same
manner, pressing LINE 1 will disconnect a call on Line 2.
CONF BUTTON
This button creates a 3-Way call between the 9225 user and parties on Line 1 and Line 2.
Follow the steps below to create a conference call.
1. Establish a call on Line 1 or Line 2.
2. Press HOLD (place active call on hold)
3. Establish a call on the other line either by dialing or by answering an incoming call.
4. Press CONF. All 3 parties are now connected.
