Troubleshooting
My caller ID
features are not
working properly.
Caller ID is a subscription service. You must subscribe to
this service from your local telephone company for this
feature to work on your telephone.
The caller may not be calling from an area which supports
caller ID.
Both you and the caller’s telephone companies must use
equipment which are compatible with caller ID service.
If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (Digital
Subscriber Line - DSL) through your telephone lines, you
must install a DSL filter between the telephone base and
the telephone wall jack (page 6). The filter will prevent
noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference.
Please contact your DSL service provider for more
information about DSL filters.
The system does
not receive caller
ID or the system
does not display
caller ID during
call waiting.
Make sure you subscribe to caller ID with call waiting fea
-
tures services provided by the local telephone company.

power failure.
You need to reset the clock (page 21).
If the telephone is not responding normally, try the
following (in the order listed):
1. Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
2. Wait a few minutes before connecting power to the
telephone base.
Common cure
for electronic
equipment.
The announce-
ment message is
not clear.
When recording the announcement, make sure you
speak in a normal tone of voice about nine inches from
the telephone base.
Make sure there is no background noise (television, music,
traffic, etc.) when recording.
"Power failure"
prompts.
You need to set the answering system clock (page 21).
