CLEANING THE BATTERY CONTACTS
To maintain a good charge, it is important to clean all charging contacts on the handset and
base unit. Use a pencil eraser or other contact cleaner. DO NOT use any liquids or solvents.
ADJUSTING THE RING VOLUME
To adjust the ringer volume of the base unit, locate the respective “Line Ringing Volume”
adjustment control on the back of the telephone labeled “RINGER LOW/HI” (see telephone
diagram on inside front cover.) Slide the switch to the desired “LOW” or “HI” ring volume
for each line.
ADJUSTING SPEAKERPHONE VOLUME
The speakerphone has eight (8) volume levels. When the speakerphone is activated, the
volume is set at level six (6). To adjust the volume, locate the VOLUME arrow keys,
labeled with “up” and “down” arrows. Pressing the “up” arrow key decreases the volume
level while pressing the “down” arrow key increases the volume. Once the telephone is on
hook for over two seconds, the volume will reset to level six (6). If the speakerphone is off
hook for less then two seconds, the volume will not be reset, and continue to be set at the
last-used volume level.
ADJUSTING HANDSET RECEIVE VOLUME
The handset has four (4) levels. When the handset is activated, the volume is set at level
two (2). Locate the VOLUME arrow keys, labeled with “up” and “down” arrows. Pressing
the “up” arrow key decreases the volume level while pressing the “down” arrow key
increases the volume. Disconnecting the call for over two seconds will reset the volume to
level two (2). If the handset is off hook for less then two seconds, the volume will not be
reset and continue to be set at the last-used volume level.
AUTO-DIAL KEY PROGRAMMING
The CL1905 has five (5) programmable auto-dial (guest service) keys and the CL1910 has
ten (10) auto-dial keys. These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone
numbers, or to activate telephone system features. The auto-dial keys can only be
programmed from the base unit.
1. Connect the CL1900 series telephone to a working telephone line.
2. Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key.
3. Press the recessed “STORE” key and release it. (Please see diagram on inside front
cover for key location).
4. Enter the telephone number, including PAUSE* as required. The sequence can be up
to 15 digits, including PAUSE.
5. Press the “STORE” key again.
6. Press the auto-dial key where the number is to be stored.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 above for each guest service button, as necessary.
8. Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key to disconnect.
* A 3.6 second pause can be entered into a dialing sequence by pressing the “REDIAL”
key for each PAUSE required.
RECEIVING A CALL
An audible ring and flickering red LED indicate an incoming call.
To answer a call when the handset is not on the base unit:
1. Pick up the handset.
2. Press the line “ON/OFF” key. The handset will go off hook, answering the call.
3. To end the call place the handset in the base or press the line “ON/OFF” key on the
handset.
To answer a call when the handset is on the base unit:
1. Remove the handset from the base. The handset will automatically turn on, connecting
the call.
2. To end the call, replace the handset in the base, or press the line “ON/OFF” key on the
handset.
To answer a call using the speakerphone:
1. Press the “SPEAKER” key. The telephone will select the ringing line and answer with
the speakerphone active.
NOTE
: The red “SPEAKER” LED will indicate that the speakerphone is active.
PLACING A CALL USING THE HANDSET
1. Press the “ON/OFF” key handset. The telephone will go off-hook.
2. Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number.
3. To end the call, press the “ON/OFF” key again.
PLACING A CALL USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
1. Press the “LINE” or “SPKR” key. The telephone will go off hook with speakerphone
active.
2. Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number.
3. To end call the call press the “SPKR” key again.
REDIAL ON BASE
Dials the last number dialed.
REDIAL/FLASH ON HANDSET
Dials the last number dialed when a new call is being made. During a call, this button will
initiate a 600 ms hook flash when pressed.
USING THE HOLD KEY
The “HOLD” key places the call on hold locally at the cordless telephone.
To place a call on hold:
1. With a call active, press the red “HOLD” key on either the handset or base unit.
2. The red line “LED” will change to a slow blink indicating the call is on hold.
TO REMOVE A CALL FROM HOLD
1. Press the “LINE” key, located next to the “HOLD” key. This will remove the call
from hold, making the call active on either the speakerphone or handset.
2. The red line “LED” will return to the non-blinking, in-use condition.
