Enhanced Full Duplex Speakerphone
The sound quality of a speakerphone is highly dependent upon both the telephone
line condition and the acoustic surroundings of the room. In order to get the best
sound quality from your speakerphone, avoid surroundings that tend to degrade the
performance such as:
* glass top surfaces
* large glass windows close to the speakerphone
* vaulted ceilings
* non-carpeted floors
* fan noise from laptops, projectors or ventilation systems (on either end of the call)
Your new speakerphone is designed to adapt, as much as possible, to these unfriendly
surroundings by performing a “self- calibration” at the beginning of each speakerphone
conversation.
1. This calibration samples the sound from both sides of the conversation. Depending
upon the surroundings and the conversation, this calibration may take up to 30
seconds to complete. Typically the calibration will complete in less than 10 seconds.
2. During this calibration, both parties in the conversation may hear a faint echo, which
will fade off as your speakerphone adapts itself to its surroundings and the condition
of the phone line.
3. If the surroundings change during the conversation (such as the speakerphone being
moved) the calibration will adjust accordingly. This adjustment samples both sides of
the conversation again, and may result in a temporary faint echo for several seconds.
