Before You Use Your Phone
Navigating Menus and Entering Data
To help you navigate menus and enter data, use these tips:
• To scroll through lists, use and , or hold down and .
• Press the * key to page up. Press the # key to page down. Use these
shortcuts when lists appear on more than one page.
• To exit from any menu, press .
• To return to the previous menu, press the Back soft key.
• To cancel the current edit session, press the Cancel soft key.
• To delete text, press the << soft key.
• To view additional soft keys, press the More soft key.
• To select a value from a list, use and .
• Use the dial pad keys to navigate through and make selections in
numbered menu lists.
• The navigation guide on right-hand side of the screen shows which arrow
keys can be used at a particular sublevel.

The background and key colors that appear on your SoundPoint IP 450 phone may
differ from what appears in this user guide.
Note
After 20 seconds of inactivity, the menu system automatically exits to the idle
screen unless an edit session is in progress.
