4. Making Calls with IP8540
4.1 Adjusting the handset and speakerphone volume
The Volume Up/Down button controls ringer, handset and speaker volume. What the buttons
control depends on the state of the device. The volume levels that you set are retained from one meeting
to the next until you change them. Table below summarizes the modes for volume settings.

Phone is on or off hook and
speakerphone button is on.

adjust the volume of the dial-tone

Phone is off hook and
speakerphone button is off.

ringer volume
Press the volume button
and
adjust the volume of the ringer.
Additionally, you can adjust volume by tapping the Settings and Volume buttons available on the screen.
