Installation Instructions
Selecting a location for Base Unit
Consider the following before you select a location for the Base Unit:
The Base Unit can be placed on a desk or tabletop near a telephone line jack and a
120V AC outlet.
The Base Unit can also be mounted on a standard AT&T or GTE wall plate using the
supplied wall-mount adapter.
Locate the Base Unit in a high spot that is central to the area in which the phone will
be used.
Keep the Base Unit and Handset away from excessive heat or humidity.
Keep the Base Unit and Handset away from sources of electrical noise (motors, fluo-
rescent lighting, computers) and metal structures such as filing cabinets.
Keep the Base Unit away from two-way radios that operate in the same frequency
range as the Superset 4090 (i.e., VHF radios.)
Keep the antenna in the vertical position.
AC Adapters
This Base Unit and Battery Charger each require a 120V AC outlet. DO NOT use an
outlet controlled by a switch. The larger AC Adapter connects to the Base Unit; the
smaller Adapter, with the yellow ring on the connector, connects to the Battery Charger.
The AC adapters have a polarized line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the
other). This plug will fit into the the power outlet only one way. If the plug will not fit into
the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the AC Adapter cannot be plugged into the outlet,
contact an electrician about replacing the outlet.
Place the power cord so that it does not create a trip hazard, or where it could become
worn and create a fire or other electrical hazard.
CAUTION: Use only the AC adapters (MITEL part number 9132-090-805-NA for Charger adapter
and 9132-090-808-NA for Base Unit adapter) supplied with this phone.
Serial Number Labels
Apply the serial number labels to the bottom of the Handset, the Base Unit, and the
Charging Unit.
Base Unit Status Indicators
The Base Unit is equipped with three Status Indicator lamps.
Power: Lights to indicate that the
Base Unit is receiving power.
Line Sync: Lights to indicate that the Base
Unit and the PBX are communicating.
In Use: Lights when the phone is in use.

directly on a wall. The charger unit can also be mounted directly on a wall.
