Introduction
Thankyouforchoosing Geemarc’sClearviewCordless CallerDisplay.
Pleasereadtheinstructions carefullybeforeuse andkeepthis UserGuide forfuture
reference.
TheClearviewstoresupto60 namesandnumbersin itscalllist. Thedisplayisextra
large, allowingyou to readit from acrossthe room, withoutthe need towalk to the
display.
Also it serves as a jumbo LCD clock, which never has to be set, since it is set
automaticallybythecallerIDinformation.
The Clearviewcan alsohold adirectory of50 namesand numbers. If anincoming
numbermatchesarecord,theassignedname(suchasFATHER,OFFICE,etc)willbe
mappedandshownon thedisplay. Youcan buildup yourown directory.
TheClearviewcancoverarangeofupto20metresfromthebaseinatypicalhousehold
environment.

Caller Displayservice
Your Clearview Cordless Caller Display receives and displays caller information,
whichistransmittedovertheBTnetworkorothernetwork providers. Theinformation
willincludethedateandtimethecallisreceived. Andinmostcasesthecaller’sphone
number .
Note-ToenableyourClearviewCordlessCallerDisplaytodisplayinformationtransmitted
viaBTorother UKnetwork providersyouwill firsthave tosubscribe tothatnetworks
CallerDisplayService. Pleasecontactyournetworkserviceprovider toarrangethis
service.
Installation
PositionyourClearviewCordless CallerID BaseUnitwithin 2metres ofa telephone
socket.
Do notstand your ClearviewCordless CallerID display orBase Unit oncarpets or
other similarsurfaceswhich mightgeneratefibres. Donotexpose theunitsto high
temperatures bysiting nearradiatorsetc. Keepthe unitsdry anddo notoperate in
outdoorconditions.
Donotcoveror enclosethe machine. Allowafreeflowofairtoits surfaces.
NOTE:Weadvisethattheunitsbeplacedonatableclothorsimilar ,asrubberfeetcan
marksomesurfaces.
Connect the adaptor to the base unit
Plugtheadaptorinto themainssocket andconnectthe smallplug intothe9vAC/DC
socketattherear ofthe Clearviewbaseunit. Switchonthe supply.
NOTE:Donotattempttouse orreplacethe mainsadaptorsuppliedwith thisproduct
otherthanaGeemarcAC/DCadaptortype 09200DG.
Connect the line cord
ConnectthesmallplugonthelinecordintotheLineCordInsocket. Connectotherend
of line cord into the telephone socket. To connect a telephone to your Clearview
CordlessCallerDisplaybaseunit,plugthetelephonelinecordintothesparesocketof
the doubler at the endof the Clearview line cord. Should you not have a modular
telephonesocketasshown,pleasecontactyourlocalBritishTelecomorotherNetwork
Operator .
Setting up the base unit
1. Press Setfor 5 seconds untilyou see “OPTI”.
2. Press Page for languagesetting. Press Set to select“ENG” (English), “SVE
(Swedish), “DAN” (Danish),“SUO” (Finnish).
3. PressPageagain toshow“TIME”. PressPagetwice,thedateand timesetting
willbeautomaticallyupdatedeachtime youreceiveacall.
Setting up the display unit
Insert Batteries to Clearview Cordless Caller Display
Open thebatterycompartment onthe undersideof yourClearviewCordless Caller
Displaybypushing ittowards thebackedge. Youwillneed4 xAAalkalinebatteries
(NOT INCLUDED).
WARNING - Calls list back up time is 1 minute. Do not
removeallbatteriesorthestoredmemoriesmaybelost. To
ensurethememoriesarenotlostusersshouldtakeoutone
batteryatatimeandreplacewithanewonebeforetakingout
thenextbattery. Changeall4batterieswhenthebatterylow
symbolshows inthedisplay.
NOTE-Thedirectorymemoryisnonvolatileandwillnotbe
lostwhenchangingbatteries.
Operation
Setting Clearview Cordless Caller Display identification (ID) code
TheClearviewDisplaymustbesetwiththesameidentification(ID)codeasthe base.
The Clearview display will read “SET CODE” after inserting the four AA alkaline
batteries.
1. Place Clearviewdisplaynext tobase.
2. On the Clearviewdisplay, press Learn. The displaywill read “LEARN”.
3. Onthebase,press Pagewithin10 seconds. ThissendsthebaseIDcodetothe
Clearview display.
To indicate thatthe ID code has beenproperly set, the Clearviewwill beep and its
display will read “ID SET”.
Verifying that the Clearview display is within range of the base
WhenPageispressedatthebase,iftheClearview displayiswithinrange,itwillbeep
once and the displaywill show “PAGE RECEIVED” for 30seconds.
If it doesnot show “PAGE RECEIVED”, thenmove the Clearviewdisplay closer to
thebaseandrepeattheprevioussteps. Ifitstilldoesnotbeep,repeatthestepsabove
toverifythattheidentificationcodehasbeenproperlyset.
