Ihave a uniden power max 2.4 and cannot reregister...

Ihave a uniden power max 2.4 and cannot reregister a new handset. I cleared the hanset EEPROM clear ok and rebooted down to the welcome screen. Placed on main unit and get registratioin failed. will not register to base. What to do now?
