Can anybody help? The base of the powerMax 2.4GHz shows a E1 i on the digital display when powered on. There is no dial tone, the handset does not charge. Model:DCT 648-3

0 To clarify the above question, the E1 is shown on the 'Message Counter Display'. The Charge button also does not come on. I have checked the contacts on the base unit & the handset & they are ok.
