Cannot listen to music with my bluetooth headset M...

Cannot listen to music with my bluetooth headset My android phone says it is paired and connected, but cannot listen to my mp3's. They still come through my phone. I have checked the settings on my phone and there doesn't appear to be any to tell the phone to not play mp's and let the earpiece do it.
