I opened my Freedom Phone model FM2575 (four screws) and a little plastic piece dropped out. I had a noisy hangup switch which I sprayed with contact cleaner but now I don't know where the little "U" shaped plastic piece goes. Would like to get the service manual not the operators manual.

0 I am electron42 and after getting a good night of sleep I found where the little plastic piece belongs. If anyone takes apart the Freedom Phone model FM2575 be aware that the volume control knob will fall off the internal slider type volume control. I suggest taking this phone apart inside a shallow cardboard box which should contain this little part. When adjusting the volume your finger would be touching what looks Stewie's head, a horizontal oval shape which can be seen on page 3 of the manual (Speakerphone Volume Control). I should have noticed that yesterday. I was having intermittent noise when using the phone, see manual page 2 showing the 'Off Hook Handset Reset". That plastic piece controls an on/off switch which was causing the noise which both sides of the phone call could hear. Contact cleaner can be purchased at Radio Shack and the metal container comes with a spray hose which helps direct your cleaner. Total of 7 same type screws. 3 screws secure the PC board and 4 screws secure the bottom plastic half to top half. Thank God for this great site.
