ringer shutoff /Sony Digital 900 mhzSP-A972...

has ringer level switches for 2 lines on right side of phone. both are set to "off" yet phone still rings? have a sick person in house and every time she falls to sleep, phone rings ! I like to take phone off the hook but not such a good idea. anyone know how to turn the ringer off on this phone, if so, thanks so much.
