I want to put message on hold using the RCA 2 Phon...

I want to put message on hold using the RCA 2 Phone TC2525RE2. I'm using an interface device that should make this poosible wit hall or many other multiline phones. Howeevr I can't remove the tone on hold to make this work. Can you help?
