Question About Panasonic Cordless Telephone KX-TCD961

I have set the volume to the loundest on the cordless phone, but the sound is still very weak as if I were talking to someone from far distance. I have been using this phone for many years and never have this problem before. I think I might have set something by mistake, I would like to set my phone back to nomral. Thank you! Amanda
