Unable to delete message...

The answering machine light blinks indicating I have a message but when I erase all messages from the base it says I have no messages. How can I get the orange light to stop blinking and the display to stop saying "new voice mail"?

5 I think I got it: Hold the "OFF" button for a few seconds until it beeps. Worked for me!
