I'm having trouble remember how to monitor one bed...

I'm having trouble remember how to monitor one bedroom throughout the house. I have Bedroom 1 switched to Monitor; what other adjustments do I make on the other units throughout the house? Should privacy be pushed in or out? Can't find my paper manual right now.
