Recently my phone's battery light has come on and ...

Recently my phone's battery light has come on and stayed on. Looking over the phone I cannot find any place a battery would be placed inside. In fact, since it is not a cordless phone, I don't understand why there would be a battery at all. What can I do?

0 Batteries (I believe two, AA) are in battery pack plugged into Control Unit in your equipment room. Service guy had to point out to me when he was in for another call.
