I have a Lucent Technologies Deluxe Tapeless Digit...

I have a Lucent Technologies Deluxe Tapeless Digital Answering System with Speakerphone 1825 and can't get the speakerphone button to work. Just put in new batteries and "CL" appears in the window, but I can't retrieve my messages. How do I clear the "CL" and get my messages and make the speakerphone button work???
