5 The machine has a factory installed 3-digit code for remote access. If you don't know the code that is programmed, or if you want to change it, here's the procedure: Press the "change" button, then press the code button. The voice should say "First digit." The display will show you the first digit, which you can keep, or you can select a new number you want for the first digit. Press the code button again. The voice will say "Second digit" and display as before. If you want to change it, select the new 2nd digit. Press "code" again. You'll hear "Third digit." The display will show you the 3rd digit, and again you can keep the number that is programmed or select a new number. Press "code" again, and the voice will read out the 3-digit code. When you call the machine from a remote number, listen to the message, and after the tone, enter the code. The voice will tell you how many messages you have and the machine will play them. If there are no messages, it will tell you that as well. That's how mine works, anyway. Hope this helps.
