I have a Model #30524 GE phone and all of a sudden...

I have a Model #30524 GE phone and all of a sudden the display screen won't show all the info, particularly # of messages (big #s next to the time). I've replaced the battery in the handset, unplugged the wall base and replugged it in, nothing seems to work. Neither display seems to be working correctly. Very frustrated...HELP!!
