GE phone model 30385 Bluetooth corded 2 line. prob...

GE phone model 30385 Bluetooth corded 2 line. problem ....plug in wall adapter and phone will start constantly clicking noise....unplug the adapter and phone will work...but not the answering machine. What is the fix? Phone will work with or without adapter plugged in.....but unplug adapter and answer machine does not work....adapter plugged in ....clicking constantly. Is there a simple fix?
