I have GE Model No. 26936GE1-C and it says no link to base, so what is the problem? Does it need a battery in the handset? I plug it in to 110 and phone jack and the speaker phone comes on when the button is pushed but no dial tone, no dial tone in the handset; the handset will display phone numbers that have been installed but won't dial any of the numbers?
