Phone belongs to elderly neighbour. After she had been playing around with the ring tome/ volume the phone no longer received incoming calls. It does phone out, you can phone internallly from one handset to another but if you dial from an external phone, the message is that "There is a fault". Checked with BT - there is no fault on the line, the fault lies with the equipment
