ANSWER MACHINE KEEPS CONTINUALLY BLEEPING...

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THE ANSWER MACHINE PART OF MY BT 6410 PHONE KEEPS BLEEPING AND THE DISPLAY KEEPS CHANGING FROM 00 TO 8 WHEN THERE ARE NO MESSAGES. WE HAVE CHANGED BATTERIES, CHECKED CONNECTIONS ETC ETC. WHEN YOU TAKE THE HAND SET OUT OF THE CRADLE, THE BLEEPINGS STOPS
