just bought - Binatone Vantage 6020 Telephone with...

just bought - Binatone Vantage 6020 Telephone with Answer Machine -Single.- am unable to get it to connect. Phone line is working fine as checked with the provider. Have tried registering the phone to the base but still no luck. Any ideas?
