I have recently moved and now my phone line comes ...

I have recently moved and now my phone line comes through the internet with u-verse. Instead of gett a message as before, I now am getting them through voice mail. This light is blinking but when I push the message button as before, there is nothing there. How do I get messages through the voice mail?
