Our older model answering machine (E5965C) is suddenly not transmitting the recorded message to callers requesting that they leave a message. The message runs on the base phone but is not heard on the phone of the caller, resulting in no messages being left or recorded. I've read through the manual on line but can find nothing addressing this specific problem. Also, what does the "mute" button do? Thank you, Eleanor Sandford
