I cannot make any outgoing calls or receive any calls

2 I had the same problem (that's how I found this) after messing around w/ the settings on the phone. You have to re-register the phone to the base. go to the menu on the phone, register, it'll ask for the code, enter 0000, press ok, then it will say searching. Press the black page button on the base for 3 seconds, the in use light will come on, then your phone will connect w/ the base again. Man I'm glad it's working again!

0 If u still need help with the second phone on b.s. search do the same thing but leave it on it's proper mount while it's searching
