Product Problem: one of the handset does not work properly

when i answer the call the other person can not hear my voice from one handset.
everything else with it is fine.
the volume of the handset is also set to highest

uniden fp105 cannot receive calls or call out. when the handset is picked up, there is an engaged tone.have checked it is not a line problem.
